We decided to go down the beach in order to stretch our legs and get some fresh sea air. After an hour of faffing we eventually left and i was slightly concerned that I’d miss the golden hour and it wasn’t the best lighting when we arrived.

Dismay permeated my feelings as we arrived at the rather cold, grey and uninviting stony beach and we sat down to enjoy the small amount of food we’d brought with us. Myself and my sister had spent the afternoon baking and were rather pleased with the lemon blueberry and almond cake we’d produced.

After a short while comprised of random conversation I got up and took the camera and crunched about the beach searching for interesting opportunities for photographs. Initially I wasn’t particularly pleased with how they turned out and it wasn’t until the following day when I actually sat down to edit them that I realised they weren’t quite as disappointing as I’d originally thought. Yes, they were not as golden or colourful as I‘d hoped for but I saw I could try out a more retro style photo. The results were satisfactory and I’m now enjoying this new style of photography so there will likely be more to come.

Here are a couple of the results, they can also be seen in the “Retro Photography” album on this site.
